A video posted by the show’s Instagram account began with Clarkson standing at a microphone wearing all black as green lights shined bright behind her. She started off with a slow, soulful interpretation of the Scarecrow’s signature song “If I Only Had a Brain,” reimagining the lighthearted tune into something much more sinister.
Effects gave her voice a spooky, ethereal reverb and her band began to play. As Clarkson built up her vocal power, the band kicked it into high gear until the intensity in Clarkson’s voice was matched by the electric guitar wailing alongside her.
Fans were blown away by the performance, stating that “She can make any song be amazing! Best voice ever!”
Others concurred, writing, “Wow!! I agree that Kelly Clarkson is one of the greatest singers of all time. That was amazing!!” and “She can sing ANYTHING beautifully!! 🔥👏❤️.”
